Where am I? — ZIP code, county & time zone
Your ZIP code, county, state, time zone and local time — from your location, with nothing stored.
Looking up your network location…
What ZIP code am I in?
The instant answer above comes from your network connection — it is usually the right city but can miss the exact ZIP, especially on mobile networks. Tap Use my precise location and your browser will ask permission to share your device position; we then match it against the actual Census ZIP-area boundaries, not just the nearest centre point, so the answer holds even near a boundary.
On Starlink, satellite internet, cellular or a VPN?
Then the network estimate can be far off — sometimes hundreds of miles. Satellite services like Starlink, HughesNet and Viasat route your traffic through a regional ground-station gateway, so the internet "sees" you in the gateway's city (a Starlink user near Nacogdoches, Texas may show up as Dallas). Cellular carriers and VPNs do the same kind of re-homing. This is exactly why rural users get told the wrong city by weather sites, streaming services and store locators. We detect the common satellite providers and warn you on the card — and the Use my precise location button is immune to all of this, because it uses your device's own GPS/Wi-Fi position rather than your connection.
What county and time zone am I in?
The result card shows your county (with its FIPS code), your IANA time zone with the current local time and UTC offset, and extras no other lookup gives you in one place: your USDA planting zone, telephone area codes and congressional district — each linked to the full ZIP page with sources.
Privacy
Your coordinates are used once, to find the matching ZIP in our database, and are not stored or sent anywhere else. The network-based estimate is derived from the connection itself and is likewise not retained. There are no ads and no trackers on this page.
Developers: the network-based lookup is GET /v1/whereami on the free CodePostalPro API; precise lookups are GET /v1/nearby.
